Michael A. (Mik) Miklaus has been umpiring baseball starting with Little League when his oldest son was eight. His son is now thirty-nine. Mik wanted to do a good job umpiring, so he started by becoming a certified LL Umpire. This required being evaluated on two big field games and two small field games on the bases and as a plate umpire in a league other than his home league. Mik went on to be elected Umpire and Chief for Fair Oaks Little League for twelve years. During this time, he began attending clinics and working other paid youth ball. It was 1997 that Mik began working High School Baseball, as well. His vocation has been paid umpiring over twenty-five years. During that time, he has umpired High School, Legion, College, Adult and Youth baseball.
Mik began working for RCOA in the mid 1990’s and began managing the group with Bill “Swanny” Swanson in 1996 when the founders, Ray and Sue Pinola retired to Florida. Initially Dan Blower also assisted with group administration, but more recently Holly Abplanalp has been the third member of RCOA leadership. RCOA and Mik has been umpiring in the SMSBL since 2006. Mik has personally umpired hundreds of SMSBL games. He enjoys being considered a part of the league immensely and works with the SMSBL Board providing umpire oversight and addressing all sportsmanship issues (Ejections)
Mik became the President of the Executive Board of NCOA, the Northern California Officials Association in 2010 and remains this training organizations senior officer.

Mik is very well known in the Real Estate community as the President and Broker of Integrity mortgage. He started this loan brokerage firm in 1997. Mik is the owner and has several Mortgage Loan Officers that work with him. The office is located at 9290 Madison Avenue in a building owned by Mik and his wife Cynthia. When not umpiring or assisting people with mortgages to buy or better afford their homes, Mik and Cindy can be found spending time with their combined eight children, nine grand children or out wine tasting at their favorite foothill wineries nearby
